Links and Equipment Recommendations
Looking to buy a new digital camera, software, books or a printer?
It's hard to keep up!
Yes, new cameras are being released very frequently. It seems that as soon as we decide on a camera or printer that we really like, a new model is brought out. That's good news in some ways, as it generally means that you are going to get more features or more megapixels for your money.
One of our favourite digital SLR cameras is the Canon EOS 400D. Higher in the range is the Canon EOS 40D - as you can tell, we are really Canon fans; but once you have a good set of lenses it makes sense to keep to the same manufacturer. For a second camera we really like the Canon G9, or the latest version, the Canon G10.
The best advice that we can offer is to check out the reviews in magazines and then follow up by going to a site such as www.dpreview.com, where you can get detailed reports about most of the latest cameras.
Where to buy? Well, if you have a camera shop nearby, it is well worth going in to see what they have on offer. You may get some expert advice too. If you don't have a good shop near you, or you don't like their prices, then do your research first and buy online. We have bought a number of cameras from Amazon.co.uk who offer very good prices for popular makes and models. For higher spec cameras we go to a specialist supplier.
Printers
We have been very pleased with our Pixma printer, which we have been using for A4 prints over the last couple of years.
Here is a more recent Canon Pixma all-in-one printer: the MP610
Accessories
we suggest that you get a large capacity memory card and a small tripod, that is easy to carry around with you and you will need a roomy camera bag, to protect your investment, and carry those extra bits and pieces in as well (or your lunch)!

Software
For general image management and editing, we use Adobe Photoshop Elements, which has a rich feature set, but is not too complex to learn to use.
For manipulating RAW images we think Adobe Lightroom is great.
You can choose these from the carousel at the top of the page.
